On Wednesday, July 25, 2007, we hosted 42 students from the Springfield Chapter AGO's Pipe Organ Encounter.
We are great supporters of the "POE", and it was a pleasure to join them for a wonderful day around the factory, followed by ice cream & later a trip to St. Joseph's Cathedral (Austin 2332) and later, a thrilling recital at Trinity College (Austin 2536) by Trinity Sophomore, Christopher Houlihan. The recital was a performed by this young virtuoso with great zeal for the love of the instrument to a capacity audience! On the next day, the POE students were treated to a recital at Smith College (Austin 279) by Juliard College Organ Professor Paul Jacobs. Then, Friday morning student recitals were heard at St. John's Church in Northampton, Mass on Austin Op. 2789.
It was an Austin-iffic Encounter Week!!
