We do not offer new swell engines for general sale,
however, rebuilding and replacement services
are available for existing installations.
Below are the common Austin-built engines through the years.
Used from the early 1900ís through the mid-íteens.
Not easily rebuilt, better to be replaced
Concertina Type (9-stage)
Used from the mid-íteens through the early 1930ís.
Very easily reconditioned, powerful and very reliable.
Late 1930ís-1970ís. A powerful motor that
is complicated to rebuild, but once completed,
will last for decades.
Like the nine stage engine,
just more of it.
The electric engine was a novel idea Ė Austin was the
first, and now there are several.
This design however,
has a limited lifespan. Our suggestion is replacement
with an OSI or compatible
unit. The existing wiring will
necessitate the installation
of a new potentiometer
on the swell shoe.
The following services are available:
Complete renovation of
the concertina-type engine
Renovation of a 9-stage wiffletree
Renovation of a 12-stage
